Conditions for obtaining a Tamwin card

Required documents: 

(1) Valid ID card copy for husband, wife and children; 

(2) Death certificate if head of family is deceased + valid IDs of family members; 

(3) Divorce certificate + court custody document if divorced.

For Fodder (animal feed) card: 

(1) Valid ID card copy; 

(2) Livestock possession certificate issued by the Ministry of Municipality.

Fees: 

New Tamwin card issuance QR 50 · Lost card replacement QR 50.

Consumer Protection Law — Rights Guide

The Consumer Rights Guide, issued under the Consumer Protection Law and its Executive Regulations (2024), outlines consumer rights relating to product safety, accurate information, fair pricing, Arabic-language labelling, warranty and after-sales services.

Main consumer rights: 

(1) Use of goods & services that do not harm health or safety;

 (2) Access to accurate information about goods & services; 

(3) Freedom to choose without seller-imposed conditions; 

(4) Arabic-language ads, invoices, contracts, and product information; 

(5) Dated invoice specifying product type, price and quantity; 

(6) Warranty — minimum 6 months for durable goods, 3 months for other goods; 

(7) Free maintenance, spare parts and delay compensation during warranty.

Product Recalls

Recall of harmful or defective products in accordance with applicable laws and regulations — removing faulty products from the market, investigating complaints and ensuring replacement where possible.

Studies & Research

The Consumer Affairs Research Section builds an integrated consumer database from opinion polls, surveys and questionnaires, publishes research findings in cooperation with government, academic and scientific bodies, and issues recommendations that enhance consumer satisfaction in line with regional and international developments.

File a Complaint

Consumers can file commercial fraud, pricing violation, or faulty-product complaints through the Ministry's Call Centre (16001), WhatsApp (+974 6611 1400), or the official e-complaint channels. All complaints are investigated by the Consumer Protection and Anti-Commercial Fraud Department.
