The State of Qatar, represented by the Competition Protection Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, secures the co-chairmanship of the Mergers and Acquisitions Working Group of the Arab Competition Network, in a move that reflects its active presence in the field of competition protection at the Arab level.

This came during the fifth meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab Competition Network, which was held virtually last week.

This victory reinforces the role of the State of Qatar in supporting cooperation and coordination between competition protection agencies in the Arab countries, and exchanging expertise, experiences and best practices, in a way that contributes to the development of the competition protection system and the consolidation of the principles of fair competition. As co-chairman, the Competition Protection Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will co-lead the Group's work by contributing to the preparation of its business plan, organizing specialized meetings and workshops, promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise between the competition protection agencies in the member countries, in addition to contributing to the implementation of specialized training programs, especially in the field of mergers and acquisitions and economic concentrations.
