On the sidelines of his participation in the economic tour in Miami
Minister of Economy and Commerce meets with former congressman and representative for Florida’s 18th congressional district
 
H.E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassem bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce, met on Monday, April 2, 2018, with Patrick Murphy, former congressman and representative for Florida’s 18th congressional district.  The meeting took place on the sidelines of the minister’s participation in the economic tour which kicked off in Miami.
Discussions touched on the promotion of bilateral ties in the economic, trade and investment fields.
The US is one of the most important Qatar’s trading partners with a volume of $6 billion and is the primary source for Qatari imports.  In 2017, 16% of Qatar’s imports came from U.S.
More than 658 American companies currently operating in Qatar of which 117 fully owned U.S companies while more than 5,000 Americans currently work with the private sector in Qatar.
