Ministry of Commerce and Industry joins World Autism Awareness Day celebrations

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry marked World Autism Awareness Day, commemorated annually on April 2, by lighting its headquarters in Lusail in blue.

The Ministry’s celebration of World Autism Awareness Day forms part of an awareness campaign led by Qatari authorities in solidarity with the global “Light It Up Blue” campaign. It calls on countries across the world to light up their buildings and prominent landmarks in blue to spread awareness on the disease.

It is worth noting that the designation the second of April as World Autism Awareness Day was set upon a proposal submitted by the State of Qatar and approved by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution, issued on December 18, 2007.
