Under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H.E Minister of Economy and Commerce inaugurates Project Qatar 2018, the 15th edition of the International Trade Exhibition for Construction Technology, Building Materials, Equipment and Environmental Technology
Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H.E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce, inaugurated Project Qatar 2018, the 15th edition of the International Trade Exhibition for Construction Technology, Building Materials, Equipment and Environmental Technology, which is taking place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center until May 10, 2018.
“Project Qatar is an important platform that has gathered a large number of international companies and institutions involved in the construction sector over 15 years. The exhibition has become an outstanding tradition and annual event featuring the latest technologies, equipment and global best practices in the construction industry and plays an important role in strengthening and bolstering bridges of communication between government officials, businessmen, investors, entrepreneurs, buyers and suppliers from construction companies,” H.E Sheikh Ahmed said following a tour of the exhibition.
His Excellency highlighted the role of the construction sector in supporting Qatar’s efforts to diversify its national economy, noting the remarkable growth of the construction sector in light of the state’s keenness to channel its expenditures to support major development projects being undertaken according to the economic policies outlined in the Qatar’s Second National Development Strategy (NDS2) 2018-2022, which aims to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030.
His Excellency said the increase in spending allocated in part to finance infrastructure ventures and FIFA World Cup 2022-related projects, represented the cornerstone of activity in the construction sector.
“The state’s commitment to supporting the construction sector has contributed to positioning Qatar as one of the fastest growing markets in the region and the world,” he added.
Project Qatar 2018, the 15th edition of the International Trade Exhibition for Construction Technology, Building Materials, Equipment and Environmental Technology, brings together this year, 280 international companies from around 21 countries as well as more than 126 local companies
The exhibition aims to highlight the products and services provided in the construction sector including electrical equipment, construction systems and technology; engineering and design services and construction materials such as marble, pipes, steel products, ceramics and granite.
