H.E. Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce, met on Monday, September 18, 2017, with H.E. Nihat Zeybekci, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Turkey, on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting touched on promoting bilateral relations and cooperation in the economic, trade and investment fields.
The State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey have strong economic and trade relations, reflected positively in the volume of bilateral trade, which amounted to 2 billion Qatari Riyals in the first half of 2017, the equivalent of 547 million US dollars.
Over the past years, Qatar and Turkey have signed a number of trade agreements and memorandums of understanding, including the Economic and Technical Cooperation agreement and an agreement on the encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments.
