Qatar’s pavilion wins record number of votes as exhibition’s best pavilion

Qatar’s pavilion at Expo Astana 2017 won praise and several awards, adding to the long list of achievements of Qatar at various international forums. The pavilion, whose design combined aspects of modernity, technology and Qatari heritage, ranked first and won the gold award among 100 pavilions of countries participating in the international Expo.
The award reflects Qatar’s success on the international and Arab level as the only Arab country to collect an award at the Expo “Astana 2017.”
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce announced that the pavilion secured a record percentage of votes from the public, who named it as the top exhibition area among more than 100 pavilions, according to the survey conducted by Exhibitor Magazine, a leading publication specialized in international exhibitions. Qatar’s pavilion also won the best exterior design award, according to the Exhibitor Magazine’s jury panel, which included experts in design and marketing.
The Qatari pavilion enjoys a design that merges modernity with heritage and Qatari culture.  Its unique front presents a number of successful projects that the country has undertaken in the field of sustainable and alternative energy, and highlights Qatar’s strategy in diversifying its energy sources and overcoming challenges in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
The pavilion also sheds light on Qatar’s position as a tourism destination and an attractive hub for business and investment.
The pavilion is home to a number of sections, including “Qatar is Vibrant,” which visually presents Qatar’s history to participants.
The “Technology of the Future” section focuses on Qatar’s efforts to embrace green energy and reduce carbon emissions, while the “Sustainable Energy” section calls for the efficient and intelligent use of energy to minimize overconsumption and its impact on society.
The “Human Energy is the Focus of our Attention” section highlights to visitors the importance of supporting human capacity building through advanced research in the field alternative energy.
Expo Astana 2017, which took place from June 10 to September 10, provides an opportunity to promote a number of industries in the energy and renewable energy sectors, environment and economy, as well as other vital sectors.
The event brought together more than 18 international organizations, 100 countries and millions of visitors from around the world.
