Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co. cuts cost of maintenance services in line with the Ministry of Economy and Commerce’s 9-clause initiative

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has announced that Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co., dealer of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Qatar, has conformed to its 9-clause initiative, designed to ease car warranty terms.
 
The company has reduced the cost of maintenance services on all Toyota and Lexus vehicles and has submitted a list of the new prices that will take effect at its service centers starting Sunday, April 17, 2016 to competent authorities at the Ministry.
 
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has in the past period by asking a pioneering initiative to support competition in the maintenance and repair during the warranty, through the liberalization of auto warranty, and compel the agents to abandon the restrictions that was impose on the owners of vehicles and of obliging them to work maintenance and repair centers of their service, and drop the guarantee in the event of the implementation of those operations service centers and other non-affiliated to the agent.
 
It is noteworthy to mention that the Ministry of Economy and Commerce had recently launched an innovative initiative, designed to boost competition in maintenance and repair services during warranty periods and compelling car agents to abandon restrictions related to warranty terms imposed on vehicle owners that had previously required them to conduct maintenance and repair works at the car agency’s workshop and that could result in revoking warranties following the implementation of maintenance works at nonaffiliated third-party workshops.
 
Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co. is the second car dealer to conform to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce’s initiative, which aims to develop the automotive sector, promote competition in terms of maintenance and repair services, bolster a competitive environment that enables clients to carry out maintenance works at workshops of their choice, and entice workshops to improve the efficiency and quality of their services and reduce the cost of maintenance.
The list of discount services offered by Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. applies to all Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The discounts range between 6% and 39% on the total costs incurred by consumers for maintenance services during the period (from zero km to 100,000 km) as shown in the following table:

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has praised Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co. for reducing the cost of maintenance services and stressed that inspectors from competent administrative departments will monitor compliance with those discounted rates at all Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co. service centers.
 
The ministry urges all consumers to properly select among the available options and in the case of choosing to conduct maintenance and repair works at third-party workshops to retain invoices as proof of maintenance and repair works as well as a reference to the third-party workshop that conducted the repairs, in addition to spare parts and materials used, with the aim of presenting it to the car agency to demonstrate that repair works were carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
 
The ministry also urges consumers to carefully examine warranty booklets to ensure the compliance of car dealers with the stipulated warranty terms and inform the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of any manipulation of warranty terms and violations by car dealers through the following channels:
