Business Development Department Organizes a Seminar on the Development of the Country’s Exports

As a part of the Ministry of Business and Trade’s keenness to support the government policies aiming to achieve a sustainable economic development, as reflected by Qatar Vision 2030 and by the National Development Strategy 2011-2016, and under the patronage of HE Sheikh / Jassim Bin Abdul-Aziz AL-Thani, Minister of Business and Trade, the Department of Business Development held on Tuesday, 15/11/2011, a seminar on the Development of the Country’s Exports.
During the symposium, the Business Development Department offered to the business community, government and non-governmental organizations, a detailed explanation on the Exports’ Development Strategy, as a way to identify their various points of view, and draft the National Strategy for Export Development in a practical way that can be easily implemented.
Mr. / Nasser Jarallah Al-Marri, Director of Business Development Department, spoke at the opening of the symposium, on the importance of developing the capacities of the national exports, as a tool to achieve economic diversification.
From his side, Dr. / Issa Juma, economist at the General Secretariat for Planning Development, gave a detailed presentation on the National Development Strategy 2011 – 2016, explaining its relationship with the exports development.
Dr. / Mahmoud Abdul Latif, expert in planning and follow-up at the Department of Business Development in the Ministry of Business and Trade, exposed the general framework of the proposed program for the development of the capacity of the national exports.
In his turn, Mr. / Aladdin Al-Zed, representative of the Export Development Agency, spoke about how to benefit from the activities of the Export Development Agency in achieving the objectives of the Exports Development Program.
At the end of the seminar, questions and inquiries by the business owners, professionals and media reporters were addressed to the lecturers who provided clear explanations and clarifications that serve the theme of the seminar.
