His Highness the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, issued the decree No. 50 of 2011, by which Mr. Sultan Rashid Al-Khater was assigned as Undersecretary in the Ministry of Business and Trade.

Mr. Sultan Rashid Al-Khater held many leadership positions in the sectors of energy and industry, the last one of them was the General Manager and Board Member in Qatar Fuel Additives Company, Ltd.
 
Al-Khater has held many other positions before, including the Maintenance Director for Liquefied Natural Gas facilities, and Director of Strategic Planning in RasGas, and has considerable fifteen years of experience in the gas industry.

Engineer Al-Khater holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the University of Qatar in 1996, and is considered a promising young talent.
