H.E. Undersecretary of Ministry of Commerce and Industry meets US Congress delegation

His Excellency Sultan bin Rashid Al-Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, met today with a delegation of Congress members from the United States which is currently visiting the country.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United States of America, Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad Al-Thani.

Discussions touched on the bilateral relations between the two countries, and joint cooperation in the trade, investment and industrial fields.

H.E. the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry highlighted the economic policies that Qatar had adopted and their contribution to abolishing restrictions on foreign investment and creating more investment opportunities for American companies wishing to invest in Qatar.

 

Qatar and the US enjoy close economic and trade relations. Qatari-US bilateral trade reached $3.2 billion during the period from January until August 2021. The US is Qatar’s fifth trading partner and primary source of imports, with the value of Qatar’s imports coming from the US amounting to about $4,108 billion.
