His Excellency Mr Sultan bin Rashid Al–Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, met with Dr Volker Treier, Chief Executive of Foreign Trade and Member of the Executive Board of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce, as part of Qatar’s participation in the Hannover Messe International Industrial Fair 2022.

The meeting was attended by severalrepresentatives from the Investment Promotion Agency, Qatar Chamber, and the Qatari Businessmen Association.

The meeting featured previewing bilateral relations between the two countries and discussing many issues and topics related to economic developments and joint relations between Qatar and Germany. The convening parties also discussed cooperation in the field of establishing joint commercial and industrial projects between the two countries’ private sectors.

It is worth noting that Qatar and the Federal Republic of Germany have close economic and trade relations that have been positively reflected on the volume of trade exchange between the two countries which reached 3.152 billion USD in 2021. Germany also ranks as Qatar’s tenth trading partner. Moreover, Qatar is home to about 323 German companies operating in various economic fields.
