Under the patronage of HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Minister of Business and Trade, and as a part of the first cultural season program of the Department of Consumer Protection, a lecture was held on Sunday evening, 04/24/2011, by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Arifi, titled “Pricing of goods and services in terms of religion, ethics and legitimacy”, in the hall of HE Sheikh Fahad bin Jassim Al Thani, in the ministry building.
A large crowd of public had attended the lecture during which the Sheikh exposed the most important legal and ethical rules and regulations related to trade, and explained as well the terms of expensiveness and monopoly in the view of religion, exposing the ethics that a merchant must have, and the legitimate sanctions that must be imposed on the exploiter and the monopolist.
The lecture was closed by an open debate during which a number of attendants addressed questions to the Sheikh on the same topic.
