Ministry of Business and Trade and Qatar University Sign Memorandum of Understanding

HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Minister of Business Trade, and QU President Prof. Sheikha Abdulla Al Misnad patronized, on Wednesday 20/02/2013 at the ministry’s headquarters, over the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Business and Trade and Qatar University represented by the College of Business and Economics.
The signed MoU aims to activate a number of aspects of bilateral cooperation, especially in regards to:
1 – Activating the exchange of experiences between the two parties. Based on that MoU, Qatar University will provide the ministry with data on the expertise of the faculty members at the university, thing that contributes to the researches on best practices in the areas of business policies and builds business databases to enable students to conduct related researches.
2 – Organizing workshops and joint conferences that serve the local and regional business community.
HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz bin Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani stressed the significance of the MoU and to start a research partnership between government and academic agencies in order to increase the cognitive and technical depth to deal with the developments and challenges of operational and regulatory work in government agencies.
For her part, Prof. Sheikha Abdulla Al Misnad hailed the cooperation between QU and the Ministry of Business and Trade, which helps advance the growth of the country and keep pace with its vision and ambitions. She added that the role of the university is not limited to the development of a promising Qatari generation, but goes beyond that to include cooperation with all state institutions through active participation in providing high-quality research and technical consultation in line with the implementation the Qatar National Vision 2030.
