Ministry of Business and Trade Organizes Two-day Corporate Social Responsibility Conference on 28 – 29 May

The Ministry of Business and Trade organizes the Fourth Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) during the period from 28 to 29 May, under the title ‘deepening of responsible practices in the business community’, at Four Seasons Hotel – Doha.
HE the Minister of Business and Trade Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz Al Thani said the ministry continues to host this conference in order to stimulate and deepen the culture of social responsibility in the business sector in Qatar and to promote best practices in the business community in the country.
HE the Minister stressed on the importance of private sector’s role in social responsibility and in the creation and development of initiatives, programs and activities that can enhance the concept of corporate social responsibility in Qatar. He also underlined the need for cooperation and joint efforts to educate businesses about corporate social responsibility and how to use them to support economic growth and sustainable development.
The conference will discuss a number of topics, including the role of governments in implementing policies and programs of corporate social responsibility
Establishing a local CSR network in Qatar; applying the principles of social responsibility in the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030; how to benefit from the practices and experiences of international companies in the field of CSR; the obligations of companies to the community as defined by international organizations; and Corporate Social Responsibility as defined by the ISO 26000. 
The Fourth CSR conference will attract a number of local, regional and international expert speakers on CSR as well as organizations working in this field.
