The Ministry of Business and Trade has participated in the “Qatar Week: Ferjaan in Tokyo” event organized by the Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) in Tokyo to celebrate the 40 years of friendly relations between Qatar and Japan. The Ministry’s participation was through a pavilion in the exhibition held on the sidelines of the event, which formally opened on Thursday and will be held until October 1. The pavilion provided a lot of economic factors and answered visitors’ questions on the nature of economic relations and activities as well as joint cooperation between Qatar and Japan in these areas. The pavilion also presented a documentary film that was produced specifically for this exhibition and translated into a number of languages in order to reach the largest possible segment.   
Meanwhile, the Ministry’s Investment Promotion Department organized on 28 September in Tokyo a specialized seminar entitled “Investment in Qatar”. The seminar focused on two main areas: information technology and research and development, and infrastructure projects.
In his opening remarks, Director of Investment Promotion Department Dr. Khalid Al Derbesti underlined Qatar’s keenness on increasing cooperation between the two friendly countries in business and trade areas, underscoring the depth of the relations and convergence of the common interests.
Dr. Al Derbesti gave a comprehensive overview of the investment environment in Qatar and of factors that have contributed to make it a fertile environment for investments.
The Japanese ambassador to Qatar also gave a speech through which he highlighted many topics of common interest between the two countries.
It is worth mentioning that more than two hundred people representing major Japanese companies participated in the event and expressed interest in investing in the State of Qatar, reaffirming at the same time the good reputation enjoyed by the State in many areas and on more than one level.
