Ministry of Commerce and Industry announces recall of Baby Milk (Similac Elecare and Human Milk Fortifier)

Due to possibility of contamination with Salmonella and Crohnobacter bacteria

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with Ahmed Khalil Al Baker & Sons, dealer of Similac products in Qatar, has announced the recall of Similac Baby Milk: ELECARE JR 400G batch number 18906220 – 22214220 – 24531220 30391220 347722201barcode 070074116723, ELECARE 400G batch number 25557220 – 27930220 – 28130220 29266220 30384220 barcode 070074122502, and Human Milk Fortifier batch number 305132200 – 305212200 351122200barcode 070074545998, due to possibility of contamination with Salmonella and Crohnobacter bacteria.

The Ministry would also like to point out that other products (Similac) in the local markets are not included in this alert and are safe for use.

The Ministry said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that dealers follow up on products’ defects.

The Ministry said that it will coordinate with the dealer to follow up on the recall campaign and will communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary recall is carried out.

The Ministry urges all customers to report any violations to its Consumer Protection and Anti-Commercial Fraud Department, which processes complaints, inquires and suggestions through the following channels:
