Ministry of Commerce and Industry carries out joint inspection campaign on street vendors in Mukaynis

Seizing four violations

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Municipality, has conducted a joint inspection campaign on street vendors in Mukaynis.

The campaign identified four violations byseveral street vendors, who were workingwithout commercial licenses. The violators were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures.

These inspection campaigns are part of the Ministry’s effort to protect consumer rights andto monitor the extent of compliance with the laws and regulations governing the commercial sector.

The Ministry stressed that it would not tolerate any negligence in meeting obligations stipulated in Law No. (5) of 2015 on Commercial, Industrial, and Similar Public Shops, and Street Vendors, as well as noncompliance with Ministerial Resolution No. (243) of 2016 on the licensing requirements and regulations to engage in street vendor activities.

The Ministry is working to intensify its inspection campaigns to control violating practices and to refer violators of laws and Ministerial decisions to the relevant authorities to take the appropriate measures.
