Ministry of Commerce and Industry closes commercial store in Umm Lekhba for a month

For displaying and selling counterfeit products and goods of international brands

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the closure of a commercial store in Umm Lekhba, for a month, due to violating Articles No. (7) of Law No. (8) of 2008 regarding Consumer Protection. The violatorwas displaying and selling counterfeit products and goods of international brands.

This measure comes as part of the intensive inspection campaigns carried out by the Ministry to monitor markets and commercial activities in the country, aimed at controlling prices and uncovering abuses and fraudulent, counterfeit, and non-conforming goods.

In this regard, the Ministry stressed that it would not tolerate any negligence in terms of meeting obligations stipulated in law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection and its executive bylaws.

The Ministry is working to intensify its inspection campaigns to control violating practices, and to refer violators of laws and Ministerial decisions to the competent authorities to take the due measures.
