Ministry of Commerce and Industry organizes annual ceremony themed ‘2020’s Harvest’

In celebration of the Ministry’s achievements in 2020, and in recognition its distinguished leadership and employees

Under the patronage and in the presence of H.E. Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry organized today, Sunday 10th, 2021, its annual ceremony, held virtually under the theme ‘2020’s Harvest’.

The event has been organized to celebrate the Ministry’s achievements attained by its various sectors and administrative units in 2020, and to shed light on priorities and future projects that will be implemented during 2021, as well as to honor the Ministry’s leadership and employees across all administrative units.

The ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Sultan bin Rashid Al-Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, H.E. Sheikh Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, Assistant Undersecretary for Consumer Affairs, H.E. Mr. Saleh Majid Al-Khulaifi, Assistant Undersecretary for Commerce Affairs, and H.E. Mohammed Hassan Al-Malki, Assistant Undersecretary for Industry Affairs, as well as personnel including department managers, heads of divisions, and employees.

The annual ceremony aims to support bonds of cooperation and harmony between senior leaders and the Ministry’s employees, enhance the values of loyalty and belonging in the workplace among employees, as well as highlight the distinguished achievements of the Ministry’s various administrative units.

Speaking on this occasion, H.E. stressed the importance of this annual ceremony in shedding light on the Ministry’s achievements and its future projects, and honoring the team comprising highly experienced and skilled leaders and personnel. H.E. praised their extraordinary efforts during the past year that contributed to consolidating the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s achievements and successes, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this regard, H.E. referred to the unique model the Ministry adopted in dealing with repercussions of the pandemic. The Ministry adopted a flexible strategy that prioritized the health and safety of all its leaders and employees, H.E. added.

Moreover, the Ministry cooperated with various government agencies and the private sector to implement the directives of the wise leadership to adopt the necessary preventive and health measures, as well as economic provisions, H.E. added.

H.E. said the directives contributed to ensuring business continuity and restoring economic growth during a record period.

In concluding his speech, H.E. the Minister thanked the Ministry’s distinguished leaders and employees who demonstrated determination during unprecedented circumstances, highlighting their keenness to continue to perform their duties at the Ministry’s headquarters efficiently.

H.E. also thanked the senior leaders and managers for the support extended to employees and for upholding the values of a united team to achieve the Ministry’s strategic goals.

The annual ceremony featured a presentation of the most prominent achievements made by the Ministry’s various sectors and administrative units in 2020, and a preview of the characteristics of its strategic orientation in 2021.

In honoring distinguished leadership and employees during the annual ceremony, the Ministry aims to further motivate employees across all administrative units to further support in achieving its objectives.
