The Ministry of Commerce and Industry participated in celebrating World Autism Awareness Day, which falls on April 2 of each year. 

The Ministry lit its headquarters in Lusail city with blue colour to highlight Autism, to raise awareness about this disorder, and to call for better care for autistic people and provide them with better care. 

MOCI’s participation comes as part of the awareness campaign that many government entities are participating in, in solidarity with the global campaign which calls for lighting buildings and landmarks around the world with blue colour to highlight Autism. 

The 2nd of April of each year was designated as the World Autism Awareness Day according to State of Qatar’s proposal to the United Nations General Assembly and was accepted on 18 December 2007.
