The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in collaboration with Fifty One East Service Center, has announced the recall of VGP-BPS26 battery packs for Sony Vaio laptops due to the overheating of battery packs.
Models that may have been sold together with an affected battery pack at the time of purchase are the SVE1413 and SVE1513 Series.
Models that may have been equipped with an affected battery pack during repair are:VPCCB14/3/2/ SeriesSVE14113/2/ SeriesSVE14A13/2/ SeriesSVE15123/ SeriesVPCEH12/ SeriesSVE17123/ seriesVPCEJ12/ Series 
 
The ministry said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that dealers follow up on product defects and repairs.
 
The ministry said that it will coordinate with the service center to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and will communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.
 
The ministry has urged all customers to report any violations to its Consumer Protection and Anti-Commercial Fraud Department.
