Ministry of Economy and Commerce launches initiative to bolster the productivity of bakeries and cafeterias

​As part of its Ramadan initiatives under the theme “#Aqal_Min_Al_Wajeb, the Arabic for “#The_Least_We_Can_Do”Ministry of Economy and Commerce launches initiative to bolster the productivity of bakeries and cafeterias • To authorize bakeries to use subsidized flour in all types of pastries and baked goods•To authorize bakeries and cafeterias to offer various items in demand during the holy month• The items covered by the initiative include Grilled Kebabs, Qatayef, Sambousas, and Fatayer in addition to different kinds of pastries and sweets.
 
Within the framework of its preparations for the holy month of Ramadan and its efforts to bolster various commercial activities across Qatar, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce announced a new initiative aimed at supporting and bolstering the productivity of bakeries during Ramadan 1439 Hijri, by authorizing bakeries to use subsidized flour in the production of all kinds of pastries and baked goods.
The initiative is a step towards enhancing the productivity of bakeries during the holy month of Ramadan since the use of subsidized flour was restricted only to the production of bread throughout the year.
The ministry announced that bakeries and cafeterias would be allowed to offer various items that become increasingly in demand during the holy month. These include Grilled Kebabs, Qatayef, Sambousas, Fatayer, sweets and other Ramadan-specific products.
The announcement comes within the framework of the initiatives launched by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan under the slogan under the theme “#Aqal_Min_Al_Wajeb” to bolster various sectors and business activities in Qatar, and to encourage bakeries and cafeterias to increase productivity and enhance the quality of their products in addition to easing consumers’ access to these products across different outlets.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has unveiled a series of initiatives to mark the holy month of Ramadan under the theme “#Aqal_Min_Al_Wajeb” the Arabic for #The_Least_We_Can_Do” in line with its duties towards society. These initiatives were designed to cover all aspects of the ministry’s activities in terms of organization, partnership and support and to raise awareness about various consumer and commercial topics.
The ministry will also launch several initiatives to regulate and bolster markets and will intensify its inspection campaigns throughout the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
