Ministry of Economy and Commerce launches initiative to boost the productivity of bakeries

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in cooperation with bakery owners, has unveiled the fifth out of a series of initiatives, aimed at boosting the productivity of bakeries during Ramadan.
 
The initiative is the fifth out of a series of campaigns launched by the ministry to mark the holy month of Ramadan under the theme “#Aqal_Min_Al_Wajeb”, meaning “#the_least_we_can _do” in Arabic.
 
The initiative aims to bolster the productivity of bakeries and to support this vital sector, which has witnessed a growth of 48% in 2015 and 2016. The initiative also ensures citizens and residents have access to basic high quality commodities.
 
The ministry has completed all preparations, in cooperation with bakeries, in order to ensure that there is a sufficient supply of commodities that are high in demand throughout the holy month of Ramadan including bread, samosas, pies and various pastries, in addition to fried potatoes and other fried foods and products.
 
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce had unveiled a variety of initiatives to mark the holy month of Ramadan 2016. These initiatives come within the framework of the ministry’s efforts to provide community-oriented services, designed to cover all aspects of the ministry’s activities in terms of organization, partnership and support. These initiatives include sheep subsidies and price reductions on consumer goods in addition to organizing a number of awareness forums and campaigns on trade in Islam as well as the “Halal Livelihood” program on the ministry’s YouTube channel.
 
The ministry has also launched the discounted consumer goods initiative, Al Baraka corporate social responsibility program, and will launch the “Iktisadi” bank card campaign as well as another campaign to regulate gold and jewelry businesses.
