Ministry of Economy and Commerce participates in Earth Hour by extinguishing building lights for one hour

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce participated on Saturday March 19, 2016 in Earth Hour – the largest environmental event worldwide by extinguishing the lights in its building for one hour, from 8.30 to 9.30 in the evening.
The Ministry’s participation in Earth Hour reflects the commitment and keenness of the State of Qatar to reduce electricity consumption and comes within the framework of a national campaign to rationalize electricity consumption, with the aim of raising society’s awareness on the importance of preserving the environment, conserving energy as well as protecting the earth against pollution, in line with the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Earth Hour is a global initiative that involves extinguishing all unnecessary lights and electrical appliances for an entire hour, as an expression of the importance of conserving energy and rationalizing electricity consumption with the aim of promoting and integrating the concept of Earth Hour in the daily lifestyle of all individuals.
