Ministry of Economy and Commerce signs MoU with Qatar University on scholarship and training programs

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce signed on Sunday, March 27, 2016 a memorandum of understanding with Qatar University concerning scholarship and training programs for university students.
The MoU comes within the framework of the ministry’s continuous cooperation with Qatar University and is part of its efforts to enable national cadres to contribute to national growth and development in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The MoU aims to lay the ground for the development of successful action plans by investing in national cadres at Qatar University through offering training programs in the fields of management, accounting and finance, customer service, leadership, and legal expertise.
The programs aims to prepare students for admission to job vacancies at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce as well as to enroll a larger number of students with special needs in the academic welfare program and provide various levels of training, including English language training as well as professional technical certificates such as the International Business Driving License (IBDL), International Computer Driving License (ICDL) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) among others.
In accordance with the MoU, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce will provide universities with required specialties based on job vacancies and will offer students at Qatar University the opportunity to train in specific disciplines required at the ministry in addition to providing training workshops for students.
Earlier this year, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce signed a MoU with Qatar University to exchange expertise and carry out research and studies in the business sector in a bid to achieve mutual objectives.
Last summer, and within the framework of joint cooperation with Qatar University, the ministry launched a training program for a number of male and female students at the Faculty of Management and Economics. The program aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to join the job market following graduation.
Through its training programs, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce seeks to provide a supportive environment for university students in order to enable a new generation of young Qataris to meet the requirements of specialized job functions at the ministry as well as equip them with the practical and technical skills that enable them to perform their professional duties and responsibilities in line with their university fields.
