The Business Development Department Receives Australian and Spanish Trade Delegations

Within the framework of the ministry’s effort to develop the trade and economic relations with the various world countries, a trade delegation from the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce, including representatives of some companies and Australian Universities, in addition to the Australian Trade Representative in Doha, paid a visit to the Ministry of Business and Trade, on Wednesday morning, 26/10/2011, where they were received by Mr. / Nasser Jarallah Al Marri, Director of Business Development Department, along with a number of the Department’s staff.
During the visit, they reviewed the aspects of cooperation between the two sides, and the ways of increasing the Australian investments in the State of Qatar, in light of a presentation of the Qatari Business Environment made by the Business Development Department. The Department prepared as well a program to visit the Australian delegation, in coordination with a number of governmental agents and companies from the private sector, in order to activate the aspects of cooperation in a way that assures the benefits of both parties.
On the same day, the Business Development Department welcomed the Spanish Businessmen Delegation, which included representatives of 20 Spanish companies dealing with different business areas, in addition to the Spanish Commercial Attaché in Doha. The Business Development Department presented an explanation on the determinants of the business environment in the State, and the benefits provided to the foreign investor in Qatar, which include many of the financial, customs and tax benefits. Moreover, the Department answered all the questions and queries addressed by the attendants, and it was agreed on the importance of maintaining good communication between the two sides, as a way to promote the opportunities to establish joint future business projects.
