The Consumer Protection Department Closes Seven Butcheries

The Department of Consumer Protection in the Ministry of Business and Trade implemented the decision of the administrative closure of seven (7) butcheries in different parts of the State. The closure decision was taken due to the fraud in the country of origin of the meat, which enters in the field of describing a product or displaying it in a manner that contains false statements and information.
This action was taken after a number of inspections made by the Commercial Fraud Combat Section in the CPD, in cooperation with the Unit of Meat Control in Doha Municipality, at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning. Many violations were monitored during the inspection campaigns, and decisions of the closure of seven butcheries that appeared to repeat the act of violation were taken then. These butcheries are :
1 – Al Maraii for Meat – Farik Bin Omran.
2 – Lebanon Butchery- New Mirqab Street.
3 – Qatari Markets Company Butchery – Ras Abu Abboud.
4 – Qatari – Emirati Company for Meat and Food – Old Airport Road.
5 – Turkish Moon Butchery- New Rayyan.
6 – Turkish Butchery – New Rayyan.
7 – Bab Al Hara Butchery – Al Karitiyat.
