The Department of Consumer Protection Monitors 57 Violations during August 2012

In the context of the permanent efforts made by the Ministry of Business and Trade, represented by the Department of Consumer Protection, to monitor the markets and the economic activities in the State, in order to ensure the consumer profit, the CP department has revealed today a number of violations committed during the month of August 2012. The violations have been amounted to 57 violations, including:

As for the complaints received by the Department of Consumer Protection, and which have been amounted to 168 complaints, they have been dealt with and transmitted to the responsible competent departments.
Moreover, the Consumer Protection Departmenthad issued the decision of the administrative closure of (8) fish and seafood restaurants for offering (Imported White Fish Fillet) and selling it as being (Hammour Fish Fillet), which constitutes a contravention of the provisions of Article No. (7) of Law No. (8) of 2008 on consumer protection.
