The Ministry of Business and Trade Holds Its First Panel Discussion and Launches Its Initiative to Provide Cost-Competitive Storage Areas For SMEs

·        Sheikh Jassim Bin Abdul Aziz: the panel discussion is a joint duty and responsibility between the public and private sectors to develop solutions and policies related to business and trade stimulation.
·        Sheikh Jassim called the Ministry and Stores Company to finalize a detailed plan for the provision of cost-competitive stores.

The Ministry of Business and Trade held on Thursday 26/01/2012, its first panel discussion for 2012.Such meetings aim to put issues related to trade subject to discussion and exchange of opinions. This comes in support of the decision-making mechanism in the Ministry and ensures a constructive communication with the relevant authorities.
Such panel discussions are held in the presence and direct supervision of His Excellency the Minister of Business and Trade, and in the presence of officials from the ministry, as well as representatives from Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) and theQatari Businessmen Association. The ministry invites as well any of the relevant authorities in the public and private sectors to participate in enriching the debate.
At the beginning of the panel, HE Minister of Business and Trade Sheikh / Jassim bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani underlined the need for continued constructive contacts and cooperation  between the public and private sectors to address the challenges of the trade sector as a joint responsibility between the two sides.
The panel discussion held in the presence of HE the Minister of Business and Trade,  Sheikh / Jassim Bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani, HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) Sheikh / Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, HE Chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association Sheikh / Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, andHE Sheikh / Fahad bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Chairman of Stores Company, in addition to representatives from Qatar Company for Medium and Small Projects Development,discussed a host of issues related to  the trade sector including means to support  warehouses and stores for small and medium enterprises in the domestic market.
During the meeting, they discussed the readiness of the storage industry related to small and medium enterprises, and identified the main barriers facing the sector and the degree of competitiveness of the trade infrastructure in the state, in relation to the entry, storage and transportation of goods, and the processes associated with it.
Addressing the panel discussion 2012 between the Ministry of Business and Trade and the Private Sector, HE the Minister of Business and Trade called for providing storage areas with competitive cost for the Small and Medium-sized companies, stating that such contacts would result in positive policies that  contribute  to developing the growth of trade sector in the State.
