Two-Day CSR Conference Concluded

The 4th CSR conference held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Jassim Bin AbdulAziz Al Thani, Minister of Business and Trade, had been concluded on Wednesday 29/05/2013.
The conference highlighted the importance of the role of the government in establishing the concept of corporate social responsibility and set strategies capable to achieve the vision of Qatar 2030.
The conference thanked MBT and the team working on the preparation of the draft standards of Qatar for corporate social responsibility, stressing on the importance of developing a clear definition of corporate social responsibility in the Qatar, as well as putting micro, small and medium enterprises in consideration among the standards, in addition to give allow civil society organizations to be involved, noting that these standards must be reviewed carefully every four years.
Emphasizing on the recommendations rose during previous conferences on establishing an Award for Corporate social responsibility.
Considering the possibility of integrating corporate social responsibility within the community responsibility for its comprehensiveness.
Spreading social responsibility concept among individuals, society and companies through training courses, workshops as well as through the press and the Media, both audio-visual and social media.
Urging companies and businesses to determine dimensions of their social responsibility carried out deliberately, and according to the environment privacy where it operates, and directing its efforts towards sustainable development goals.
