Minister of Commerce and Industry Participates in 135th Session of the Union of Arab Chambers in Doha

H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, took part in the 135th session of the Council of the Union of Arab Chambers on Sunday, September 29, 2024, in Doha.  The meeting was attended by Presidents and members of the Arab Chambers of Commerce and Industry, as well as the Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Economic Affairs Sector of the League of Arab States. H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Industry extended his warmest greetings to his colleagues, the heads and members of the Arab Chambers of Commerce and Industry during his address, expressing his hopes for the meeting's success in achieving its goals. His Excellency emphasised that the meeting represented a valuable platform to strengthen cooperation between business sectors in the Arab world, adding that it is the appropriate forum for decisions and recommendations that meet current requirements and contribute to activating the role of the Arab private sector, to be put forward. This, in time, would lead to advancing Arab economic integration and achieving development and prosperity for the region. His Excellency pointed out the great potential and capabilities in the region and underlined the importance of enhancing economic and trade cooperation between Arab countries that has the potential to assume a prominent position on the global economic stage. Concluding his speech, His Excellency underscored the pivotal role of the private sector in enhancing opportunities for economic cooperation, and confirmed Qatar’s commitment to continue to support all initiatives aimed at elevating the status of the Arab private sector.  In closing, His Excellency commended Qatar's economy for its significant success in recent years, attributing it to the deliberate plans and strategies adopted by the State, which have positioned it as a stable global investment destination.
