The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, represented by its Information Technology Department, has been awarded two prestigious ISO certifications: ISO 20000:2018 for IT Service Management and ISO 27001:2022 for Information Security Management. The certifications were granted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in recognition of the Ministry’s successful implementation of the latest international standards in IT service delivery and management, as well as its adoption of best practices in information security and risk assessment. The certificates were presented to Mr. Ahmed Ali Al-Kuwari, the Director of the Information Technology Department. ISO 20000 and ISO 27001 are globally recognised certifications, regarded as leading models for operating, implementing, monitoring, and improving management systems in the fields of IT services and information security. The Ministry affirmed that earning these certifications underscores its commitment to adhering to internationally recognised standards and delivering high-quality services to its clients. It also demonstrates its commitment to ensuring the highest levels of security and confidentiality for all stakeholders, thereby fostering a secure and efficient work environment.
