His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, met on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, with H.E. Laurent Saint-Martin, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad, on the sidelines of his participation in the World Economic Forum 2025, held in Davos, Switzerland, from January 20 to 24, 2025. The ministers discussed a range of topics of mutual interest in the fields of trade and investment, and the main themes on the Forum’s agenda. His Excellency also met with Mr. John Michael Evans, President of Alibaba Group, to discuss areas of potential cooperation and topics of mutual interest. H.E. Minister of Commerce and Industry stressed the successful policies adopted by the State of Qatar to support the private sector, highlighting a slew of investment incentives, legislations and opportunities to encourage investors and business owners to invest in Qatar. The World Economic Forum 2025 drew participation from heads of state and government, think tanks, business leaders, as well as top figures from the private sector, civil society, thought leaders, innovators, and public figures.
