H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Malki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, participated in the 16th International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: Kazan Forum 2025", held in the city of Kazan of the Republic of Tatarstan until 18 May.

Mr. Al-Malki attended the official opening ceremony of the international exhibition "Russia Halal Expo" held on the sidelines of the forum. He also held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade at the Republic of Tatarstan.

During the meeting, both parties reviewed issues of mutual interest with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, and industry, and exchanged views on the topics of the forum’s agenda.

The meeting also highlighted the successful economic policies implemented by the State of Qatar to support the private sector, alongside the incentives, legislation, and opportunities tailored to encourage investment into Qatar.

His Excellency toured the "Russia Halal Expo", where he was briefed on the pavilions, services and products offered by exhibitors. He also visited the outdoor exhibition of vehicles and equipment, as well as the exhibition of real estate and infrastructure projects.

His Excellency paid visits to ICL Factory and the IT Park, where he was introduced to the leading technologies and industrial and technological practices adopted at these facilities.

Mr. Al-Malki also participated in the official dinner hosted by H.E. Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, which was attended by a number of high-ranking officials.

As part of the forum’s agenda, Mr. Al-Malki took part in the forum’s plenary session, including a session titled "The Russia – Qatar Economic Dialogue" that focused on prospects for bilateral cooperation and strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries.

The Kazan Forum 2025 aims to strengthen economic, trade, investment, technological, and cultural ties between Russia and the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

The forum comprised diverse events and panel discussions addressing various topics, including international cooperation, tourism, transport, industrial dialogue, global challenges, media activities, youth entrepreneurship, youth diplomacy, women’s perspectives, culture, and business associations.
