The Ministry of Commerce and Industry marked World Competition Day, celebrated annually on December 5th, with an event aimed at promoting fair competition in Qatar and raising awareness of Law No. (19) of 2006 on Protecting Competition and Preventing Monopolistic Practices.

The event, designed for investors and business owners, included a presentation on the Ministry’s role in safeguarding competition and monitoring the local market, along with an explanation of prohibited practices that could negatively affect the business environment. It also highlighted the Ministry’s services, including awareness initiatives, procedures for assessing potential violations, and its role to promote compliance with competition principles and encourage sound commercial practices.

The celebration of World Competition Day reaffirms Qatar’s efforts to strengthen competitiveness and improve the national business environment.
