




His Excellency Dr. Ahmad bin Mohammed Al-Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, together with His Excellency Eng. Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Arab Republic of Egypt, chaired the proceedings of the Egyptian–Qatari Investment Forum, held in Cairo with the participation of chambers of commerce leaders and a number of business leaders and investors from both countries.
The forum was convened at a time of accelerating growth in economic relations between the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt, reflecting the shared commitment to strengthening cooperation and expanding the horizons of sustainable development.
In his opening remarks, His Excellency the Minister of State for Foreign Trade affirmed that the forum embodies the depth of the fraternal ties between the two brotherly countries and their keenness to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation. He stressed the importance of continuing efforts to increase trade volumes and promote joint projects and investments in a manner that serves the interests of both sides.
His Excellency noted the growth of Qatari investments in the Arab Republic of Egypt, particularly in the real estate development, tourism, financial services, and energy sectors, underscoring confidence in the Egyptian economy and its future prospects. He also highlighted the projects of Qatari Diar and their role in supporting economic development and creating job opportunities, reflecting the depth of the economic partnership between the two countries. He called on Egyptian business leaders and companies to benefit from the distinguished investment environment offered by the State of Qatar and to consider it a strategic platform for expansion into Asian markets.
His Excellency further emphasized the importance of activating the Qatari–Egyptian Business Council as a key platform for developing trade and investment partnerships, in addition to exploring the possibility of signing a free trade agreement with the Arab Republic of Egypt within the approved frameworks of the League of Arab States, in a way that enhances the smooth flow of goods and services and supports supply chain integration.
The forum’s agenda included visual presentations and specialized panel discussions addressing prospects for investment cooperation and strengthening economic partnership, as well as discussions on competitive advantages and reforms supporting investment attraction, and the role of the real estate, tourism, financial services, and logistics sectors in driving sustainable economic and industrial growth.
The forum also witnessed the convening of a number of bilateral meetings between business leaders from both countries, aimed at exploring cooperation opportunities and building new investment partnerships in sectors of mutual interest.
On the sidelines of the forum, His Excellency the Minister of State for Foreign Trade held a series of bilateral meetings with a number of senior Egyptian officials, including His Excellency Mr. Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry, His Excellency Eng. Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, as well as several business leaders. These meetings discussed ways to enhance cooperation, develop joint projects, and explore future opportunities.
