Ministry of Commerce and Industry Intensifies Inspection Campaigns Ahead of the Holy Month of Ramadan

As part of its preparations for the holy month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has intensified its inspection campaigns across retail outlets and consumer complexes in various areas of the country. This comes within the framework of an integrated monitoring plan aimed at ensuring market stability, the continued availability of essential goods, and reinforcing compliance with laws and regulations governing commercial activity.

The campaigns focused on monitoring retail outlets and consumer complexes to verify the availability of essential goods ahead of Ramadan, follow supply chains from suppliers to points of sale, monitor prices and ensure their alignment with those announced to consumers, prevent monopolistic practices and price manipulation, and ensure that prices match those displayed to consumers.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry affirmed that its inspection teams operate continuously according to well-studied plans and in coordination with relevant authorities, to closely monitor market developments and take the necessary measures against violators. This contributes to enhancing price stability and ensuring the availability of appropriate purchasing options.

The Ministry also confirmed the continuation of periodic and seasonal inspection campaigns, and the enforcement of legal measures against violators in accordance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law and its Executive Regulations.
