H.E. Mr. Saleh Majed Al-Khulaifi, Assistant Undersecretary for Industry and Business Development at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, met on Monday, 19 January 2026, with a delegation from the Egyptian Engineering Industries Export Council, headed by Eng. Sherif El-Sayyad, currently visiting the country.

Discussions focused on ways to strengthen partnerships between Qatari and Egyptian companies and expand the volume of trade in engineering goods and products. The meeting also reviewed recent developments in Egyptian engineering industries exports to the Qatari market and their role in meeting local market needs, particularly in the areas of cables, electrical and household industries and appliances, as well as metal construction components linked to engineering projects.

Future cooperation opportunities in the engineering industries sector were also explored, alongside efforts to encourage the organization of regular bilateral meetings between companies from both countries. Talks further addressed the possibility of arranging a trade mission for Qatari companies to Egypt and supporting the Export Council’s efforts to establish direct communication channels with Qatari business communities, including Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Qatari Businessmen Association.
