The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced on Sunday, 8 February 2026, the launch of the Discounted Consumer Goods Initiative for the month of Ramadan. The initiative includes a list of more than 1,000 items and is being implemented in coordination with major retail outlets across the country.
This step forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts over recent years to roll out seasonal initiatives aimed at ensuring the availability of essential consumer goods at reduced prices during the holy month of Ramadan, a period marked by increased household spending on food and consumer products.
The approved list covers a wide range of basic consumer goods required during the holy month, including flour, sugar, pasta, chicken, oil, milk, and other food items. It also includes non-food products such as paper tissues, cleaning products, laundry powders and liquids, and other frequently used household essentials.
According to the Ministry, the discounted consumer goods list has been circulated to all major consumer complexes nationwide and published on the Ministry’s official website, as well as across all its social media platforms.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of full compliance with the approved prices until the end of the holy month of Ramadan, noting that inspection campaigns will be intensified to monitor violations and refer offenders to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action, in order to safeguard consumer rights.
In this context, the Ministry urged consumers to contribute to community oversight by reporting any price violations. Complaints and suggestions can be submitted through the following channels:
