



With the attendance and participation of H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry organized a range of sports and recreational activities in celebration of National Sport Day. The events were held in collaboration with Qatar Free Zones Authority, Qatar Financial Centre, and the Investment Promotion Agency, and took place at Katara Cultural Village.
On this occasion, H.E. the Minister expressed his pleasure at taking part in the National Sport Day activities, affirming that this national occasion reflects the State of Qatar’s commitment to promoting a culture of physical activity and encouraging community members to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle that contributes to public health and overall quality of life.
He further noted that the designation of a National Sport Day embodies the wise leadership’s emphasis on sport as a fundamental pillar for building a healthy society capable of productivity and excellence, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, which places human development as a top priority.
The Ministry’s program featured a wide variety of sports activities and competitions for employees and their children, catering to different age groups. These included outdoor fitness sessions and relay exercises, padel sports, a football tournament, as well as recreational and interactive activities designed specifically for children in a manner suited to their interests and ages.
The Ministry’s participation in National Sport Day comes as part of its commitment to supporting national initiatives aimed at promoting community health and fostering an active lifestyle within the workplace, in line with the State’s broader efforts to enhance quality of life and encourage positive behaviors that support the well-being of society.
