The State of Qatar participated today, Tuesday, 17 February 2026, in the eighth extraordinary meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of Ministries of Industry of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States, held via videoconference.

Qatar was represented at the meeting by a delegation headed by H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Malki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The meeting was attended by Their Excellencies the Undersecretaries of Ministries of Industry of the GCC States, H.E. the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the GCC General Secretariat, and the President of the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting.

Discussions covered several agenda items, most notably the proposed framework for defining the GCC national product, the joint Omani-Kuwaiti proposal to address localization criteria in accordance with industrial sectors, and the implementation plan for the lists of goods subject to collective protection by industrial sector. Appropriate decisions were taken in this regard.
