Qatari-Saudi Economy, Trade and Industry Committee Holds Third Working Group Meeting

Meeting of the Heads of Working Groups of the Economy, Trade and Industry Committee under the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council

The heads of the working groups of the Economy, Trade and Industry Committee, stemming from the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council, held their third meeting today, Monday, 2 March 2026, via video conference.

The meeting was chaired on the Qatari side by H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Malki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and on the Saudi side by H.E. Eng. Rakan bin Wadah Trabzoni, Deputy Minister of Economy and Planning for International Economic Affairs, in the presence of several officials from both sides.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed the strong fraternal relations between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and discussed ways to enhance economic, trade, and industrial cooperation in support of shared interests.

The two sides also discussed the agenda items, which included a summary of the Committee’s work for 2025, updates on the implementation of directives and decisions issued during the eighth meeting of the Council at the leadership level, and a review of the Committee’s objectives for 2026.

The meeting addressed mechanisms to facilitate import and export operations, enhance bilateral trade, and strengthen supply chain integration between the two countries. It also reviewed the progress of ongoing joint initiatives, discussed key challenges and obstacles and ways to address them, and outlined the Committee’s next steps.

Additionally, both sides reviewed the Committee’s strategic objectives and ways to further strengthen integration and bilateral cooperation in alignment with the economic visions of the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
