The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued Administrative Decision No. (CDN-027170-2026) to administratively close “Progressive Marketing” for one month and impose a fine of QAR 1 million for violating the provisions of Article (10) of Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection.
The decision followed the company’s increase of prices without obtaining prior approval from the Ministry and its failure to comply with the regulations and controls governing price increases, which constitutes a clear violation of the law.
This measure forms part of ongoing efforts to monitor markets and ensure suppliers’ compliance with the applicable laws and regulations. The Ministry stressed that it will not tolerate any violations that could harm consumers’ rights or disrupt the business environment in the country.
