Ministry of Commerce and Industry Penalizes a Delivery Company for Advertising Discounts Without a Permit

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced that it has taken action against a delivery company, initiating legal proceedings, referring the case to the relevant authorities, and imposing a fine of QAR 10,000. The violation involved advertising discounts without prior approval from the Department of Specialized Licensing and Market Control, in breach of Ministerial Decision No. (311) of 2018 regarding discounted sales.

This measure comes as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen market oversight and regulate commercial practices, ensuring that businesses comply with applicable laws and regulations. The Ministry emphasized that it will not tolerate any violations that may harm consumer rights or negatively impact the business environment in the country.
