H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, led the delegation of the State of Qatar on an official visit to Seoul, Republic of Korea, aimed at exploring opportunities for cooperation in strategic projects and enhancing bilateral partnerships, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, advanced industries, and technology.

During the visit, H.E. was received by H.E. Mr. Kim Min-seok, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, where discussions focused on reviewing the bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Korea, and exploring ways to support and further develop them, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, in addition to addressing a number of topics of mutual interest.

H.E. also held a series of meetings with several senior officials in the Republic of Korea, including H.E. Mr. Kang Hoon-sik, Chief of Staff to the President and Presidential Special Envoy; H.E. Mr. Bae Kyung-hoon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT; H.E. Mr. Yeo Han-koo, Minister of Trade; and H.E. Ms. Han Seong-sook, Minister of SMEs and Startups.

These meetings reviewed areas of cooperation between the two friendly countries and explored ways to strengthen them in the fields of trade and investment, as well as discussing prospects for collaboration in advanced industries, including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and biotechnology. This comes in follow-up to the outcomes of the visit of the Korean Presidential Envoy to the State of Qatar earlier this April, during which both sides emphasized the importance of expanding strategic investment cooperation.

H.E. also met with a number of CEOs of Korean companies operating in advanced technology sectors, including artificial intelligence, where discussions focused on exploring opportunities for cooperation, developing joint projects, and strengthening the presence of these companies in the Qatari market.

The delegation of the State of Qatar included senior executive officials from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Qatar Investment Authority, and the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar.
