The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has launched the second phase of updating registered commercial activities for existing companies. This phase covers companies whose current registered activity corresponds to multiple activities under the Unified Economic Guide for the Classification of Economic Activities in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The update aims to align commercial activities with the GCC-approved classification, improve the accuracy of activity classification in line with regulatory requirements and economic developments, enhance data quality and transparency, streamline procedures, unify the reference framework for activities, and reduce duplication and overlap.
The Ministry explained that the update targets business owners, existing companies, and relevant government entities.
During this phase, the Ministry will update the commercial activities of companies whose current activity corresponds to multiple activities under the unified economic activity classification.
This phase builds on the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to update registered commercial activities in line with the Unified Economic Guide for the Classification of Economic Activities in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. It follows the first phase, launched on June 1, 2026, which covered companies whose current registered activity corresponded to one specific activity under the unified classification.
