Qatar and Hungary discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation

Hungary hosted the third session of the Qatari-Hungarian Joint Economic Committee. His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Qassim Al-Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and His Excellency Mr. Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, chaired the committee meeting, which was held in Budapest.

During the meeting, H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Industry praised the strong and notable relations between Qatar and Hungary, noting that these have grown steadily over the years and been strengthened by the exchange of official visits between the two countries.

H.E. stated that the country has launched several initiatives aimed at attracting foreign direct investment and international talents in various fields, including technology, infrastructure, health, trade, and investment, in line with the country’s goals of creating an enabling environment for the digital ecosystem.

He also emphasized the state’s commitment to maintaining the national economy’s sustainability and stability, as well as positioning Qatar as an attractive destination for foreign investors, expressing his desire to capitalize on the numerous investment opportunities available between the Qatari and Hungarian sides with the goal of improving collaboration across numerous sectors.

During the session, various aspects of cooperation in priority sectors were discussed, in addition to ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in fields such as trade, investment, construction, infrastructure, agriculture, shipping, civil aviation, health, education and information technology.

It was agreed to consolidate cooperation between the two countries to increase trade exchange between them, and facilitate the flow of goods, services, and investments.
