Ministry of Commerce and Industry Imposes Final Anti-Dumping Duties on Imports of Electrical Fittings, Switches, Plugs, and Sockets from the People’s Republic of China

14 May 2025

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued Decision No. (19) of 2025, introducing final anti-dumping duties on imports of electrical fittings, switches, plugs, and sockets designed for voltages not exceeding 1000 volts, originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China. The decision is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to safeguard national industries and enhance the competitiveness of locally-manufactured products.

The measure aims to protect Qatari industries from unfair dumping practices and to maintain a level playing field for domestic producers by curbing the influx of underpriced imports that may harm the local market. The decision supports market stability and helps create a sustainable and balanced commercial environment.

The final anti-dumping duties will take effect from the date of enforcement and remain in place until 25 September 2029. Relevant authorities are tasked with implementing the provisions within their respective jurisdictions. The decision will come into force on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
