H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, headed the State of Qatar’s delegation during an official visit to Oslo to discuss opportunities for cooperation in strategic projects, strengthen bilateral partnerships between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Norway, and explore available investment, economic, and trade opportunities in both countries.
During the visit, H.E. the Minister of State for Foreign Trade held a series of meetings with several senior officials in the Kingdom of Norway, including H.E. Ms. Cecilie Myrseth, Minister of Trade and Industry; H.E. Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, Minister of Finance; H.E. Ms. Marianne Sivertsen Næss, Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy; and Ms. Anette Steigerdal Norberg, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The meetings reviewed bilateral cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Norway and discussed ways to support and further develop them, particularly in the fields of trade and investment. Discussions also covered prospects for cooperation in technology and artificial intelligence, advanced technologies and industries, and biotechnology. Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding strategic investment cooperation between the two friendly countries.
H.E. the Minister also met with several chief executive officers of Norwegian companies operating in advanced technology, maritime industries, renewable energy, financial services, and other vital sectors. In addition, he met with the head of Norges Bank Investment Management, where discussions focused on prospects for cooperation and opportunities to develop joint projects.
The Qatari delegation included several senior executive officials from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Qatar Investment Authority, Invest Qatar, and Hassad Food Company.
